Who we are

Originally, we were www.creesisters.com, two
sisters who belong to the Missanabie Cree First Nation band. (MCFN) (Cree: masinâpôy ininiwak, ᒪᓯᓈᐴᔾ ᐃᓂᓂᐗᐠ). MCFN is a "Treaty 9" Nation. The nation is
named after Missinaibi River and Lake, around which the traditional territory
of the nation is located. 

The name "Missanabie" means "Pictured Water", referring to
pictographs found on rock faces along Missinaibi River.  

The MCFN's mother
tongue is Moose Cree, also referred to as the "L-dialect" of the Cree language.

Cree Sisters is now www.CreeCraft.com.  We have decided to bring in other indigenous artists.

There are more art/craft items added constantly so check back often.

Handcrafted

Our jewellery / crafts / ornaments are handmade. Some can take days or weeks to make. That means that they are not perfect. You will see small imperfections or differences between things (length, colour, etc.). They should also be cared for as they can be fragile e.g. feathers.

If a piece is Sold Out and you'd like something similar, please contact us and we will work with you on the design. Keep in mind we will not replicate items exactly (not that we could).
